Graduate Consultant - Open pit mining engineering

The Role

We are looking for a talented, motivated, and enthusiastic graduate or junior Mining Engineer who has a passion to continue learning and developing their career. SRK will provide an environment that will allow you to innovate and hone your mining engineering skills guided by world class engineers. You will join a highly respected team of mining engineers, and within our multi-disciplined organisation, you will be exposed to other engineers and scientists in the geology, civil, geotechnical, geochemical, mine closure, and hydrogeological areas.

This exciting learning opportunity involves undertaking some or all of the following duties:

• Contributing to mining feasibility studies (open pit optimisation, mine design, mine scheduling) which may involve site-based field works or visits
• Operations and site-based technical support
• Data management, technical analysis and assessment
• Condensing technical data into fit-for-purpose reports and presentations.
• Supporting the preparation of proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities Interacting with SRK clients.
• Project management and evaluation
• Liaising with a range of internal and external clientele.

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• The ability to work full-time within Perth, Australia.
• 1-5 years mine planning working knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Language fluency in English including the ability to contribute to high-quality technical reports.
• Willingness to travel (including remote locations)

Additional desirable experience includes:

• Experienced in open pit mining operations.
• Experienced using mine design and mine planning software.
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Office suite
• A passionate and technically orientated professional.
• Self-motivated professional with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
