What You Will Do
Kinross' Project Value Assurance group is looking to hire a student for the summer of 2022 as part of our Gold Rush Internship program. You will support Kinross, it's sites and projects in making strategic decision through analysis, business case development, modelling and impactful communication to ensure these projects are delivered safely on time and on budget. Aid in development and updating of key project reports, presentations, and KPIs. Support in the study and implementation of opportunities to improve project economics through cost reduction, engineering, operations improvement, and strategic initiatives
The Opportunity
A placement at Kinross Gold Corporation is a unique opportunity to be exposed to different disciplines within the company and also gain experience on some on some our largest and most exciting projects. Additionally, working from our corporate office gives you context about our sites and how they all tie in to the broader portfolio, and impact shareholders and the market. The teams you will be working with are engaged and high-performing, and include approachable people from all walks of life. They are very hands-on and take mentorship seriously, so you will receive a lot of support, guidance, and training to gain the skills you need to get the job done. By the end of your internship, you will have developed tangible planning and business skills that will help you get the most out of your final year(s) of university and set a meaningful foundation for your career post-graduation.
Must Haves
2nd or 3rd year student in an analytical discipline and/or engineering Lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement Strong analytical skills, with ability to compile and analyze large amounts of information Strong time management skills; the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines Strong communication skills and collaborative work style; ability to work with a wide range of project, technical and financial leaders
Nice to Haves
Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish Experience working with culturally diverse teams Active extracurriculars A demonstrated interest of having a career in mining Experience working with Microsoft Office suite
