About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Instrumentation & Control Technician to join our Mount Milligan Mine team.

This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday, with a 12-hour daily schedule.

Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor, the Instrumentation & Control Technician will be responsible for various maintenance activities common to a surface hard rock mining and milling operation as well as the associated crushing, grinding, flotation, conveyor systems and support equipment.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing excellent safety leadership, and adhering to and sponsoring safety culture, environmental policies, and procedures
• Installing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining field instrumentation equipment
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
• Writing detailed reports on work performed and resolved problems

About You

To qualify, you must have an Interprovincial instrumentation certificate, and a valid driver's license, and 3+ years of experience working as an Instrumentation & Control Technician.

T he following skills and experiences will also be critical to successfully performing this role:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
• The ability to physically lift 50+ lbs.

The following skills and experiences would be considered an asset:

• Knowledge of Delta V, ABB 800XA and Allen Bradley PLC systems
• Experience with Onstream analyzer

The ideal candidate will also be a self-motivated team player, who is comfortable working in close quarters and in varying weather conditions.
