ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Install and calibrate new on-board system hardware and software, including registration and commissioning of technology enabled systems.
  • Diagnose, maintain and support on-board and infrastructure hardware, including support of GPS receivers and off-board and on-board radios.
  • Report major issues to the Cat Technology group and follow through containment and permanent corrective action.
  • Support new users and staff (operators and office personnel) on current and updated product (including on-site troubleshooting and maintenance).
  • Distribute and install software upgrades to the office and on-board systems including firmware updates to GPS receivers and radios.
  • Provide support repairs and insure service reports and all pertinent repair information is provided and parts retained for both revenue and warranty repairs.
  • Provide customer support as outlined in any Technology Support Agreements assigned.
  • Train new users and office support personnel.as required and directed.


• Write and modify Technology user reports as required and directed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work varying shifts and overtime as business needs arise.

  • Support others in the Equipment Solutions group who may need assistance from time to time.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Technical experience with electrical troubleshooting, as well as mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interact effectively in multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team environment including working with customer mining engineers, and personnel in planning, operations, maintenance and human resources and company parts, service, sales and support personnel.
  • Knowledge of common computer software applications, including some experience with CAD based design software, PC networking and troubleshooting.
  • Provide accurate, timely and complete product resolution as it may relate to servicing, or maintaining the technology product.
  • Effectively participates as part of team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures and practices.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School and 1 or 2 years technical college course load.
  • Minimum of two (2) year's experience or equivalent formal education in mining applications.
  • Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the job function.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Courses in basic electrical/instrumentation and technical writing/presentations.
  • Professional attitude and appearance consistent with position and responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.
