Supervisor - Talent and Workforce Planning

Location: Columbus, MT / Hybrid Remote

Schedule: 5/2, 4/3

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Talent and Workforce Planning Supervisor provides leadership, support, advocacy, and vision to our recruiters and support staff who provide recruiting and workforce planning support to hiring managers across our Company. The supervisor will coach and mentor the team by providing constructive feedback and developing growth plans that will enhance the company's approach to hiring processes. The supervisor's responsibilities and duties will include the following:

  • Manage the organization's talent and workforce planning processes and activities, oversee the daily workflow of the department, and implement successful strategies, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with site/functional leadership teams and recruiters to develop a sustainable pipeline for the site or function and support retention-building activities to achieve and maintain retention goals.
  • Actively support and contribute to continuous improvement by leading special projects, conducting research, analyzing programs, and providing critical feedback that helps solve team problems or improve processes and practices.
  • Actively build and strengthen relationships with business, industry and schools in our region to address workforce needs and develop a pipeline of talent.
  • Participate in the candidate selection process and make recommendations to the recruitment team on the suitability of candidates.
  • Oversee and optimize the use of the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure streamlined workflow and full utilization of the tool.

The perfect candidate for the role of Talent and Workforce Planning Supervisor has a degree in HR, relevant supervisory experience, a professional background as a recruiter, an understanding of technology and technical roles/skills, and a thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience including:

  • Exceptional internal customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Working in and with industry; good working knowledge of the region's high demand industries especially as it relates to and affects our workforce strategies and goals.
  • Building networks to develop a pool of candidates for various business functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding the mining business and business strategy.
  • Ability to apply talent management process and tools to support strategic business objectives.
  • Personal drive and sense of urgency pushing self and others for results; delivers on results despite obstacles.
  • Flexibility and eagerness to lead a dynamic team and to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction from manager.
  • Proven integrity in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations and respect for personal privacy.
  • Conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing related reports to effectively communicate KPIs and trends.
  • Thoughtfully resolving conflict and escalated issues with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with employee groups at all levels of the organization.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in HR-related functions including recruitment/talent acquisition and workforce planning.
  • Minimum 3 year's supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Or some combination of the above.

Additional Notes:
