SRK Consulting is an employee-owned, independent, international consulting practice, providing integrated consulting services to the resources sector.

We are seeking a Resource Geologist with geological modelling and resource estimation experience to join our highly experienced team of consultants in our Perth office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects both in Australia and internationally where you can develop your skills and reputation.

Description of Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will part of a team providing specialised consulting services to our clients working both in the office and in the field. They will consult on both Australian and International projects for our clients. The role will primarily be focused on providing database construction, QAQC review, geological interpretation, 3D geological modelling and grade estimation across a wide range of commodities. You will be required to conduct site visits in Australasia and overseas to collect and assess geological information.

As a Resource Geologist, you will be involved in project work with more senior staff who will mentor and assist you in developing your technical skills and career aspirations, as well as gradually building up a network of clients.

Essential Requirements:

• A degree in geology or geoscience, with a post-graduate degree preferably in geostatisics regarded favourably.
• Significant industry experience including geological modelling and resource estimation experience and preferably some experience within an operating mine environment.
• Proficiency with resource estimation tools across multiple packages, with a working knowledge of geo-statistics.
• Sound geological understanding of ore deposits with the necessary skills to build 3-D geological domain models.
• Experience in the use of either Datamine, Vulcan, Leapfrog and/or Micromine software will be highly regarded.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Current professional registration, or the requisite experience and qualifications to gain AIG or AusIMM membership.
• High levels of written and verbal communication
• Previous consulting experience will also be regarded favourably.
• Australian Resident or existing Working Visa (essential).
