Our Industrial and Marine business has two opportunities for Mechanical Fitters to join an operational maintenance services contract and a capital upgrades contract located within the Port of Newcastle, NSW.

The operational maintenance services role is part of a small team of technical experts, you will provide your expertise in maintaining and fault-finding materials handling equipment including gear boxes, conveyor belts, vacuum unloader, bucket elevators etc. ensuring that work is completed safely, effectively and to the required standard.

The capital upgrades role requires your expertise in fitting equipment for removal and replacement to complete structural remediation and repair, ensuring that work is completed safely, effectively and to the required standard. The role entails all general elements of fitting expertise.

ABOUT YOU

• Fitter / Mechanical Trade qualification or equivalent, with experience maintaining materials handling equipment specifically with pneumatics and hydraulics within a heavy industry environment.
• Experienced in safe use of hand tools and equipment required to perform tasks
• Able to work effectively both autonomously and within a team of different trades with well-developed communication skills and commitment to safety
• HRWL - Elevated Work Platform and Working at Heights tickets are highly desirable
• An ability to commit to being available for some shift work, on-call, overtime, and weekend work when required
