Job Title: Financial Analyst (FP&A)

Location: Brule and Williow Creek Mines (Candidate will ideally be based out of Chetwynd B.C. or Tumbler Ridge B.C. - Hybrid working arrangements may be considered)

Schedule / Terms of Employment: This is a full time (40 hours/week), permanent position
Primary Purpose
The Financial Analyst (FP&A) will be the primary Finance Business Partner for mine general managers and department heads. They will be responsible for all financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting at mine sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary Finance Business Partner for mine general managers assisting on all budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Preparing site-level forecasting for mining activity, operating costs and capital expenditures
  • Utilize available data streams to investigate, analyze, and make recommendations to support business improvement projects
  • Track costs and budgets for operating expenses in the sectors under their responsibility, and the necessary adjustments to monthly financial reports.
  • Producing various financial analysis reports, including variance explanations, for monthly publication or to meet specific needs.
  • Initiating and actively participating in the improvement of methods and processes by helping to provide data, proposing ideas and collaborating to improve cost control.
  • Perform financial analysis on potential projects and acquisitions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A university degree in business or related field
  • Designation (CPA, CFA) completed or in progress is nice to have
  • 3-5 years of financial experience in a related role, preferably at a mining or oil & gas company
Skills and Abilities
  • Advance Excel skills with financial modeling and budgeting experience
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Power Pivot and data modeling
  • Ability to effectively summarize complex information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence others and work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a commitment to attention to detail;
  • Interest in the mining industry and knowledge of systems used in engineering, operations, process control, environment and maintenance functions
Work Location / Travel
The position can be based remotely but will require approximately 50% travel to mine sites in Northeast BC.
