Essential Duties and Responsibilities
High Level Responsibilities:
•Work closely with the CFO, COO, and Project Manager to build out the procurement division
•Lead Procurement Team in support of capital projects, strategic sourcing, and daily purchases
•Maintain a high-level view of all Procurement activity at the company, provide insight and guidance to leadership on same
•Monitor and Manage company spend through use of data systems and traditional procurement practices
•Support Operations and Administrative functions of the company by driving timely, accurate, and best value purchase actions
Team Centric Responsibilities
•Provides guidance and direction to team, including setting and monitoring performance goals
•Work with team to identify and implement professional development plans
•Interview, hire, and oversee staff training per the needs of the business
Core Procurement Responsibilities
•Develop and implement purchasing and contract management processes, instructions, policies, and procedures
•Negotiate contracts, pricing, and outside service agreements with suppliers
•Develop cost reduction strategies and savings plans for key or high spend categories
•Review and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
•Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
•Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
•Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess present and future material availability or problem
•Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials
•Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs
•Other related duties per the needs of the business
Required Skills/Abilities
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
•Excellent negotiation skills of both large- and small-scale procurement
•Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
•Understanding of business and management principles
•Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
•Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
•Experience with Netsuite preferred
Education Requirements:
•High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
•Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, ex: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Contract Management, Business, or similar field
•Professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a case-by-case basis
•At least ten years of experience in purchasing and logistics related field preferred
Safety
•Comply with all MSHA standards as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations
•Comply with all company safety standards and policies
•Correct any safety hazards found that can be immediately corrected
•Report any unsafe conditions that can't be immediately corrected
•Report all accidents, regardless of the severity
•Report to work in a ready state fit for duty
•Immediately stop work if the work is not safe or cannot be performed in a safe way
•Participate in daily pre-shift safety discussions
•Participate in safety meetings
•Keep work areas neat and orderly
•Use all personal protective equipment when required
Physical Requirements
•Prolonged periods of sitting
•Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
•Must be able to perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computers and/or related office equipment
•Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
