The Role
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Planning Supervisor, the Asset Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling ofmaintenance activities at Newmont's Tanami Mine Maintenance Department.The Asset Planner will resource system generated work orders, along with operational identified defects and faults, by identifying materials, labour required, and any special tools or equipment for the development of weekly, monthly and long term maintenance schedules.

This varied role will see the Asset Planner adopt a short, medium and longer termfocus on our maintenance planning in alignment with Asset Management Strategies, with a key focus on continuous improvement, cost efficiencies, safety and quality. Collaboration with maintenance and operational staff will be essential for success in this role.

Key Tasks
  • Create weekly schedules of all maintenance tasks
  • Organise and level labour resources required for scheduled maintenance activities
  • Create, review, and ensure the asset strategy is effective and is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Management of all proactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Optimise inventory levels through effective planning and scheduling
  • Work within a team environment, liaising with work management coordinators, supervisors, engineering and operations personnel to ensure that work orders are reviewed, planned and scheduled within the required periods
  • Manage master data requirements for department and utilise SAP knowledge to ensure data integrity for functional locations, equipment, BOMs, task lists and work centers
  • Ensure weekly maintenance plans and schedules meet minimum KPIs each week
  • Chair planning meetings as required


Knowledge, Training and Experience
  • Demonstrable fixed plant maintenance planning/scheduling experience
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of MS Excel, Outlook and Project
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Work Management processes


Working Conditions
  • Hybrid working arrangement predominantly working from home
  • Position will be required to attend site from time to time
