Reliability Maintenance Planner

Location: Stillwater Mine - Nye, MT

Position Purpose and Summary:

The Maintenance Reliability Planner is a critical function for the Mobile Maintenance Department. The primary purpose is to develop mobile equipment maintenance plans that support the maintenance strategies designed to align with the company's asset management plans and policies. The planner's additional purposes are to support all equipment reliability improvements via their maintenance plans. The planner works with the Mobile Maintenance Planning, Scheduling, and Reliability Team in order to develop FMEAs that direct the focus for the mobile maintenance plans created by the planner. As maintenance plans are executed, the planner will work with the team in order to use field level inputs in order to prompt planned work level outputs such as; backlog repairs, PCR plans, FMEA developments, RCAs, Rebuild and Replacement Plans, Equipment Improvements, and other asset management or reliability related deliverables.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop plans for the assigned fleets to meet maintenance strategies. Horizon: 1 month - 1 year
  • Develop work packages for preventative, backlog, and ad-hoc maintenance work.
  • Develop and Incorporate FMEAs into the maintenance strategies and work packages that are delivered at the field level.
  • Continuously update maintenance equipment history in order to keep up to date with equipment deficiency actions, retrofits, and decisions made around the equipment.
  • Develop asset strategies and load the maintenance program into JDE.
  • Conduct forecasting, and manage backlog and predictive maintenance work.
  • Develop operational readiness plans that are aligned with the asset management strategy.
  • Manage the planned work scope and ensure work completed during the planned job is documented.
  • Establish and improve processes related to long-term and short-term planning practices.
  • Conduct RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) related to FMEA data or field level feedback.
  • Develop, plan, and schedule PCR (Planned Component Replacement) plans.
  • Manage fleet strategies around equipment lifecycle planning; and develop, plan, and schedule rebuild, replace, run as is maintenance strategies.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Proven experience with quality communication skills
  • Project management experience with success at managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Analytical capabilities with standard computer programs: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Bachelor's Degree related to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 5 years of equivalent education and practical experience.
