About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Database Geologist to join our Client based in the Perth CBD. This position will support the Exploration Team in data management and reporting requirements to inter-departmental stakeholders . The successful candidate will work part time 2-3 days per week, with potential for flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and ensure high quality, fully validated geological database systems and processes.
  • Work with external consultants, GIS team and internal IT support to maintain and validate the database.
  • Work with Company stakeholders to ensure a seamless interface between the exploration and mining databases.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure high visibility and ready access to data stored in the Ocris database.
  • Oversee and maintain the Ocris database, identifying opportunities to improve exploration, resource development and mine geology processes and the links between them, including the integration of various data sources and data capture methods across the company.
  • Ensure Company QAQC standards are achieved and maintained, with applicable standardisation across departments and sites.
  • Mentor the geologists and field technicians in database management processes and assist with training and support for database related issues.
  • Assist senior management in the preparation of annual reports and technical documentation.
  • Process data from internal and external parties and assist with ongoing data improvement projects.
  • Extract and provide data to internal & external parties.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Tertiary qualification in Geosciences.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the mining and exploration industry, experience using Ocris as a Database advantageous.
  • Ocris Professional accreditation desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge of QA/QC processes for sampling and analytical results.
  • Exhibit an ability to implement innovative solutions and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with high degree of attention to detail.
  • Experience using GIS solutions such as QGIS, MapInfo and ArcGlS are desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to communicate at all levels of the business and supporting and training users.
  • A high level of competency with SQL Server management and Advanced skills in SQL scripting.
