About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Mill Maintenance Millwright to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.

This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off, with a 12-hour daily schedule.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Millwright will be responsible for various maintenance activities common to the milling operation and the associated crushing, grinding, flotation, conveyor systems and support equipment.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Repairing and maintaining structures and components of Mount Milligan Site Services facilities
  • Fabricating product enhancements as required
  • Actively participating in various safety activities
  • Performing Preventative Maintenance inspections
  • Repairing equipment in the field or shop
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Writing reports detailing work performed and problems found
  • Performing any other responsibilities related to the Millwright role as required or as assigned by the department head


About You

To qualify for the Mill Maintenance Millwright role, you must have an Interprovincial Millwright certification, along with 3+ years of experience, with mining experience preferred.

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Proven safety and attendance record
  • Must have own tools or willing to obtain
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Adaptability to a variety of working environments
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
