Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Metallurgical Intern. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role.

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist

Responsibilities :
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assist the metallurgical engineers with their projects and plant surveys
  • Sample preparation in the Bucking Room of the Assay Lab
  • Conduct sludge testing and assist with the operation of the Water Treatment Plants
  • Collect water samples for environmental analyses
  • Conduct flotation and other test works in the metallurgical laboratory
  • Conduct small plant tests
  • Calibrate analysis equipment, PSI and other process equipment
  • Small project test work
  • Perform other related duties as required


Qualifications :
  • Current college or university student working towards a degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
  • Must be proficient in MS Office 2016 and Excel
  • Must have good organization and observation skills
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Prior laboratory experience would be an asset
  • Respirator use is required, as part of the job is conducted in the mill with significant physical activity
