About the Role

WesTrac is seeking an experienced technician to join our team as a Site Performance Specialist based from our Tamworth branch.

Reporting to the Mining Support Manager, the Site Performance Specialist plays a pivotal role in maximising our mining customers return on their fleet investments by providing technical support, advice on equipment optimisation and analysing fleet performance data to drive improvements in overall asset performance.

This is a dynamic role supporting key customers and will require travel to sites in the Tamworth/Gunnedah region. A current Order 43 medical or ability to complete is an essential requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships with each allocated site
  • Utilise fleet performance data to proactively drive improvement in asset performance
  • Carry out wear management inspections
  • Regular report generation as required
  • Working with customer on resolution of unplanned downtime to ensure timely resolution
  • Monitor and review maintenance and operational practices and technology applications that impact machine performance and make recommendations for improvement to optimise TCO

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • 5-year post qualification/trade experience working on Cat equipment would be highly regarded
  • Experience with CAT systems including DBS, SIS and ET is desirable
  • Current Drivers License - C Class minimum

Skills and Experience
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with proven relationship management skills
  • Understanding of 'whole of life cost and Fleet Production Cost (FPC)
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment faults and recommend solutions
  • Experience with CAT MD6250 drills, 6060 HMS or similar
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed ability to analyse data and compile reports
