Reporting to the Newman Branch Supervisors, the Field Service Mechanic will have proven experience in a Field Service position where you have performed repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer equipment in a professional work environment. You will have strong drive, motivation and direction to succeed in a safety conscious environment.

Location: FIFO Shut Down Team in Karratha (Rio Tinto)

Roster: 8/6/7/7 - 8days, 6 off, 7 nights, 7 off - 12 hour shifts (excellent night rates)

To be successful the following is required:
  • Australian recognised Heavy-Duty Trade Certificate with post trade experience (Field Service)
  • Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skill
  • Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without direct supervision
  • Strive to assist the customer to achieve machine availability
  • Drivers License (LR - HR preferred but not essential)
  • HRWL (i.e. LF, DG, WP)
  • Refrigerant Handling License (Preferred but not essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Heavy equipment product knowledge - Component change out experience
  • Be well aligned and exhibit WesTrac's SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customer

This position provides on-site shut team support at Rio Tinto's Robe valley operations located at Mesa A & Mesa J mine sites

Robe Valley is an open-pit iron ore mine located within the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Iron ore mining at Robe Valley traces back to 1972.

Day to Day duties:

• Carry out equipment servicing, and maintenance as required

• Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions

• Produce detailed, professional and timely service reports

• Provide exceptional customer service and support to this site

• Promote and maintain a safe, clean and compliant work environment
