We are working with a global, multibillion-euro company who are leaders in providing energy and automation digital solutions, with an aim to be a digital partner for sustainability and efficiency. Due to extensive growth there is a current need for a Global Application Engineer - Green Steel, who will sit within the Mining, Minerals and Metals team based in Europe.

This Global Application Engineer - Green Steel role will report to the Global Strategy, Technology and Marketing Lead, and be responsible for supporting the sales teams. They will help translate requirements from the customers and metal process OEMs by analysing, understanding, and translating customer project requirements. It will be client facing and supporting partners such as process OEMs and EPCs in their aim for efficiency to help decarbonise the steel process.

Key requirements for this Global Application Engineer - Green Steel are:

• Supporting the sales team and quotation team in analysing customer quotation requirements, efficiently participate in customer, EPC and Process (OEM) engagements.
• Working closely with the power systems optimisation team (BLAST), services and industrial automation teams to support optimising the customer proposal to the most technically and commercially favorable position in line with sustainability, efficiency and digitisation drivers from the client.
• Helping to support the segment order intake growth for Green Metals and traditional Metals
• Building relationships with (P)OEMs.
• Gaining an understanding of offers and how they match client requirements, and innovating existing offers.

Essential requirements are:

• Engineering Degree aligned with industry - preferably electrical degree
• Customer understanding: +5 years of experience in the steel industry, preferably primary steel making operation, maintenance, design/engineering of customer applications and projects
• Consultative and solution ability to understand all processes and behaviours from the tender up to the offer and delivery of the full metals solutions.
• Well connected or hands on experience with key process OEMs in the steel industry both from a sales, design and execution perspective.
• +2 years in similar position in Electrical power systems projects for the steel industry.
• Very good command over a second language (in addition to English), for e.g. Spanish or French
• Knowledge of IIoT based solutions
