Job Description

Reporting into the Supervisor, the Foreman is responsible for coordinate a team of safe operation and maintenance of the equipment, machinery and processes in a world class operating plant.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges

· Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.

· Develop standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives.

· Ensure employees work in compliance with H&S (e.g. isolation, lock out and tag out), quality and environmental standards and procedures.

· Provide input to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the use of best practise techniques and procedures for station specific aspects.

· Escalate inspection anomalies to the Supervisor.

· Monitor equipment and report to the Supervisor items of the plant requirements.

· Lead the team to employ best practise maintenance techniques and procedures for the maintenance and optimum performance for the work activities of a team of mechanics including associated equipment.

· Understand, communicate and meet production targets.

· Actively participate and lead a team of mechanics in the execution of assigned daily maintenance tasks.

· Provide daily work plan to operations staff and ensure all necessary work permits are obtained.

· Ensure all maintenances activities are executed by qualified, trained personnel with applicable certification and verification of competency.

· Ensure all preventive and predictive maintenance plans are planned and scheduled via a computerized maintenance management system.

· Ensure update of the database of maintenance activities of work performed.

· Provide reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.

· Follow up of methods, materials, tools and parts so downtime is minimal.

· Monitor and report on component wear and tear.

· Ensure that team requirements are met.

· Document and complete a comprehensive hand-over at the commencement and end of every shift.

· Mentor, lead and provide practical hands-on, technical and supervisory support for direct reports on a daily basis to effect skills transfer and promote quality orientation.

· Contribute to the risk identification Crushing.

· Manage performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching.

· Work with Human Resources to identify training opportunities that provide depth and versatility for all new and advancing employees.

· Promote a positive employee environment ensuring a continuation of a solid working relationship with all employees.

· Implement FQM Way culture across the team - "Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together".

· Act as deputy for colleagues as required.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Crushing.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
· Education

· Technical or technological college level degree.

· Skills

· Strong leadership, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Mentoring and coaching skills.

· Strong cognitive and analytical skills to problem solve.

· Ability to identify risks and implement effective management strategies.

· Good verbal and written communication skills and able to analyze data and provide clear and accurate reports in both an upward and downward direction.

· Computer fluency is a must.

· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

· Experience

· Minimum 3 years of experience in crane operations and planned lifts in heavy industry.

· Minimum 1 years of leadership/supervisory experience.

· Significant experience in a large, complex base metals processing plant highly regarded.

· Knowledge of JDEdwards or other enterprise systems.

· Experienced in the use of maintenance management systems.

· Language

Fluency in Spanish is required with English language competency highly regarded.

Working Conditions
Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as Residential BIBO.

Work hours and rosters may vary as required by the business.
