Description

Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the "Company") is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in Southern California. The project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

The Company is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer for its Soledad Mountain Project (the "Project") in Mojave. The mine planning engineer is responsible for the development of both long-term and short-term mine designs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the operations with optimized mine plans. This is a safety sensitive position.

This position reports to the Engineering Superintendent

Responsibilities
  • Short term mine planning. Design areas for the next mining period (week, month, quarter, and year)
  • Long term mine planning; Complete pit designs, economic evaluation of mining phases, tonnage reporting
  • Design blast patterns
  • Estimate equipment productivity
  • Calculate block model tonnage and grade estimates using MineSight or equivalent system
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for mine design
  • Design and manage data base systems for mine productions, equipment availability, productivity estimates
  • Complete haul road engineering and design
  • Day-to-day and longer-term efficiency monitoring for mine production including drill hole estimates and tonnage production
  • Generate survey information for field application of engineering designs
  • Facilitate the operation of the fleet management system including data management, system configuration, and production reporting
  • Monitor systems for efficient mining operations including engineering, surveying, drilling, blasting, ore control, loading, hauling, and ancillary support
  • Generate yearly budget schedules based on mine production estimates
  • Derive solutions for mining situations related to design, process control, efficiency, and economic evaluation
  • Communicate and work closely with mine operations management;
  • Be familiar with and comply with the Company's safety and health policies.


Requirements

  • Engineering degree in mining, Geological, or related field
  • Three to five years' experience in mining
  • Knowledge of how to prepare budgets, model cash flows, and an awareness of the main items in balance sheets and income statements will be an advantage and
  • An ability to communicate and present information in a manner that is clear and understandable.
  • Driver's license required


Salary Description

$81,947 - $110,869 annually
