The Business Services Centre (BSC) contributes to Downer's success by delivering scalable finance-related services. Services provided by the BSC to Downer Group include payroll, purchase to pay, accounts receivable, and travel and expense management. The BSC payroll function has over 105 staff operating out of North Ryde NSW and Melbourne Victoria. The BSC pays over 50,000 employees using SAP and Oracle Express HR. There are over 200 EBAs. We are looking for a Payroll Test Analyst to join the team on a full time permanent basis.

The purpose of the Payroll Systems Testing Analyst is to deliver high quality, robust, timely and effective testing of configuration changes to HR, time capture and payroll systems. The Payroll Systems Testing Analyst is responsible for the completion of high-quality comprehensive payroll systems testing services, managing in scope project tasks on time and delivering quality outputs to the relevant lines of business and BSC Payroll Teams.
About the role

• Translate payroll as well as time and attendance business requirements into testing activities
• Developing and executing Test Cases with an in-depths understanding of Payroll Processes including manual payroll calculations and leave calculations
• Liaise with the development team, business analyst and SME's, in creating and documenting test cases.
• Ensures that any defects are documented, tracked, managed and escalated as required.
• Ability to interpret Awards & EAs and translate them into testing activities
• Developing and maintaining test cases to ensure comprehensive testing of the requirements utilising approved test tools.
• Clear understanding of NES and ability to interpret multiple Awards & EAs
• You will need to be a problem solver and resourceful in how you get things done
• Ensuring traceability of test cases back to requirements.
• Responsible for System integration and User Acceptance Testing
• Executing any or all of component testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, end-to-end testing and user acceptance testing in accordance with agreed test cases and test plans
• Maintaining Test documents such as but not limited to Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Evidence and Datasheets for automation in document repository.
• Adhere to all Downer policies, procedures and standards

Who you are

• 5+ years' experience using Kronos, Express HR Payroll systems and Payroll process experience (end to end), essential
• A strong, demonstrable capacity to interpret and practically apply legislative instruments such as Awards, EA's and relevant Acts
• Experience in applying legislative payroll requirements centred around EBA/Award management, tax and employment law.
• Understanding of how to manually calculate payroll, back pay calculations and manual leave accrual calculations
• Experience in Test Case Management Software
• Experience in understanding EBAs and how to apply this to payroll processing
• Advanced Excel (Essential)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good Mathematic skills
• SDLC knowledge (preferred but not essential)
• HR experience (preferred but not essential)
