Position Overview

The Trade Compliance Specialist will perform a variety of duties necessary to support the Company's compliance with import/export regulations and operations and report to the Trade Compliance Lead. You will interact with internal and external partners and will work both independently with members of the Contracts, Supply Chain, Program Management and Business Development teams on a variety of import/export compliance related activities to minimize associated risk to the Company while supporting business growth goals.

District Overview

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation, water/wastewater, power, oil, gas and chemical, building, and mining. We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives. Someone that is detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time.

Location

This position is located in The Woodlands, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day to day compliance issues that delay the clearance of goods through the export/import entry process.
  • Ensure compliance with US import/export regulations.
  • Import (HTS) and Export (ECCN) classification validations and audit.
  • Adhere and follow Kiewit Supply Network Trade Compliance programs.
  • Participate in Customs inquiries and help to prepare responses.
  • Analyze data from ACE reports.
  • Serve as an import classification subject matter expert capable of providing classifications globally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to obtain requisite product information to perform accurate import classifications and operational improvements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent practical experience in a Trade Compliance function.
  • Experience supporting global import classification operations.
  • Experience working with Harmonized Tariff Schedule Search and interpreting classification concepts and references.
  • Import/Export experience with vehicles, construction equipment and multiple load entries between US & Canada. (Highly preferable, not required)
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, Logistics, and Legal).
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and exhibit excellent follow-up.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as oral presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to interpret & examine Federal CFR and EAR regulations.
