Downer's Surfacing division is highly respected and has an excellent track record for delivering a high standard of work within the Lower North Island region. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual interested in becoming part of the crew as a Quality Assurance Technician in our sealing team.

About the job:
You will be responsible for organising and recording quality operations. Ultimately ensuring project operations achieve superior levels of safety performance and seamless communication and reporting to management. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Preparation of Contract Quality Plans, ITP and completion of quality assurance and quality control documentation including ITC's
• Carrying out activities in accordance with the Quality Plan, Inspection, Test Plan and Project Plan
• Calculation of material quantities ensuring compliance with customer requirements
• Recording of completed work and data including mix temperatures, mat depth and asphalt data dockets
• Recording of completed work and data including site measures, spray dockets and chip dockets per site
• Highlighting quality or compliance issues as they arise

About you:
You will bring with you experience in sealing and quality assurance, alongside a relevant tertiary engineering qualification. You will also:

• Hold a Full NZ Class 1 and 2 licences (Class 4 licence is beneficial)
• Be proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Demonstrate experience in maintaining accurate records and data management
• Be able to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to surfacing/construction operations
• Have excellent communication skills and a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
• Be comfortable working remotely and on call when required
