Rail Systems Engineering (RSE), is an engineering group specialising in Systems Engineering, Signalling Design and Installation, Over Head Wiring and Technical Systems Integration. Formed in 2018, Rail Systems Engineering now boast over 220 staff members supporting an Infrastructure business with annual revenues exceeding $1.5 billion. RSE, of which the Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance (SESA) team is a part of, provides a unique opportunity for existing practitioners to utilise and expand their existing skills, to expand their knowledge to new avenues of SESA learning and to support those wishing to enter the SESA environment through our graduate mentoring program.

The Program:

The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) is designed to support Queensland's population and economic growth, as well as Cross River Rail and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Ormeau Facility Project:

The Ormeau Facility Project, integrated in the QTMP, comprises a depot and a stabling yard to maintain the new trains, and include ETCS/PSD test facilities, automated vehicle inspection system, and an underfloor wheel lathe. The site will be located between Prairie Road in the north and Goldmine Road in the south, adjacent to the existing rail line.

The Rail Systems Engineering business will be responsible for the design, supply, installation, construction, testing and commissioning, and acceptance of all permanent infrastructure and systems, modifications to existing infrastructure, and encompasses the following:

• Earthworks, drainage, security, fencing and signage
• The depot with specialist rail equipment
• Stabling to stable 20 six -car Multiple Units and a Rail Traffic Crew Building
• Ancillary buildings
• Rail systems, including CSR, OHLE, HV, Signalling and Communications,
