Senior HRIS ECP Analyst

Reporting into the Manager, People Systems, the Senior HRIS Analyst, SAP Payroll (known internally at Teck as Senior HRIS ECP Analyst) is primarily responsible for analyzing system defects in SAP Success Factors Employee Central Payroll (SAP SF ECP), liaising with the business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the HRIS team to triage and fix issues within the module.

The Senior HRIS ECP Analyst possesses profound knowledge in payroll processes, is an SAP Success Factors ECP expert and is responsible for all activities of the SAP Payroll release management, including gathering requirements, testing, end user training and ongoing sustainment support as needed.

The successful candidate will provide an overall analysis that contributes to the development, enhancement, support, and maintenance of payroll related systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate trends and irregularities to identify causes and make recommendations for changes to payroll processes or systems.
  • Enhance service delivery, ensure data integrity, and minimize operational risk in collaboration with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge and expertise of SAP Payroll configuration to the business.
  • Identify and analyze business problems and define the scope of activities required to address issues, including requirements review, business process reviews and impact assessment.
  • Prepare Release Notes and/or presentations for SAP SF ECP, and prepare training manuals for biannual releases and year-end processes
  • Support SAP ECP testing, helping testers and answering SAP ECP and payroll processes questions
  • Support Payroll Year end activities including preparation of T4s, amendments, reconciliation, and audit proces


Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma with emphasis on management of information systems or another technical discipline.
  • Strong background and knowledge in SAP Payroll and Canadian payroll experience including schemas and rules.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience in a similar role, responsible for supporting an SAP SF ECP implementation project; with excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, training, and able to effectively advise on business process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communications abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and managing multiple assignments simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with Project Management Tools and System Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Familiarity with Mining or Natural Resources industry is desirable
  • Experience working in large organizations at Enterprise, Business Unit, and Operating Unit levels.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (O365 preferred)
