Are you a dedicated problem-solver with a keen eye to finding bugs? Teck is seeking a highly-skilled and hardworking Senior Quality Assurance Specialist for a 12-month contract to ensure innovative, cloud-based software is delivered accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Develop and implement manual test cases and test plans to verify the functionality, usability, and performance of our software applications
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate across different teams, including developers, product Owners, and business analysts, to understand requirements and define test objectives
  • Identify, report, and track software defects, ensuring their timely resolution and communicating the impact on the product
  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing and deployment.
  • Use issue tracking systems like Jira or Azure DevOps to log, track, and manage software defects
  • Continuously enhance and optimize the QA process, methodologies, and tools to improve productivity and quality
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and sharing of knowledge
  • Stay updated with industry standard practices and emerging trends in software testing and QA automation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in manual software testing and QA automation, ideally with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in designing and running manual test cases, test plans, and test scripts
  • Expertise in automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, playwright, cypress, or similar
  • Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, or C# for test automation
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an Agile development environment
  • Proficient in using issue tracking systems like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles and integrating automated tests into the pipeline
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex software issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
