Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Quality Assurance Manager to join our Mining & Minerals team on rotation for our construction project near Lanigan, Saskatchewan. The Quality Manager will monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and ensure all Contractors Quality programs, processes and procedures are followed and completed.

Wood's Mining & Minerals business performs consulting and EPCM services for many of the world's leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects on five continents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with contractors to review and assist them in the development of their project specific ITP's and quality programs
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of quality documentation including: manuals, certifications, records, quality plans, and first article inspections (FAI's)
  • Monitor the Non Conformance (NCR) process by identifying, evaluating, and documenting internal failures, and reporting on trends
  • Ensure Corrective Actions (CAR) are identified and implemented in a timely manner
  • Analyze and compile quality data into weekly and monthly reports to capture trends, summarize results, communicate the cost of returns, and to demonstrate objective evidence for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop quality training material and deliver to all levels of employees, inspect incoming materials for conformity to quality standards, and inspect FAI's to ensure customer specifications are adhered to
  • Inspect and audit work in progress (WIP) and finished goods to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process
  • Update visual management boards with quality information and provide visual aids on product conformity where requires, coordinate activities and provide direction to inspectors,
  • All other duties as assigned


Skills / Qualifications

  • 10+ years of previous working experience with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 documentation requirements is required
  • 10+ years of experience with test and certification data and material and product testing
  • Experience with quality reporting to senior management and 3 rd party auditing firms
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Graphing, Access)
  • Capable of reading and interpreting customer supplied and internal drawings generated by engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate to all levels of employees, including customers and suppliers
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
