About Perseus

Perseus Mining Limited is a dual listed (ASX/TSX) gold miner, developer and explorer whose activities are focused on the African continent. The Perseus Group operates three gold mines: the Edikan Gold Mine in Ghana, and the Sissingué and Yaouré Gold Mines in Côte d'Ivoire. The Perseus Group also has exploration projects in Côte d'Ivoire and Sudan and is continuing to explore other African regions.

Perseus is implementing an organic growth strategy designed to maintain the Perseus Group’s gold production at or above 500,000-ounce per year gold producer from multiple operating mines located on the African continent.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the management of the Technical Services function supporting the site-based GMs as well as the Business Growth team in all relevant technical disciplines. 
• Develop and lead the execution of the long-term strategies for the Technical Services function to ensure the business meets its strategic objectives.
• Assume functional responsibilities for mineral processing including review and audit of processing budgets and forecasts prepared by site.
• Provision of “expert technical advice” for problem solving and business improvement initiatives related to mineral processing, metallurgy and plant maintenance as required.
• Review and audit of mining budgets and forecasting prepared by site and sign off on reserve and resource. 
• Assume functional responsibility for mine optimisation including review and audit of short/medium/long term mine planning and scheduling conducted by site mining engineers.
• Collaboration with discipline leads within the Technical Services function to develop forward looking strategies and programs geared toward operational performance and continuous improvement.
• Actively promote and demonstrate the Perseus core values as a senior leader of the business. 

Skills/ Experience:

Essential

• Proven solutions orientated leader who is accustomed to industry best practices.
• Technically sound mining operations background with general knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and with other departments and disciplines. 
• Self-starter, trustworthy with a keen sense of ethics. 
• A proven track record of driving best practices, improving productivity and profitability throughout operations.

Desired

• Work experience in Central, West and Eastern Africa.
• French language skill is desirable.
