Te kowhiringa | The Opportunity

Downer are proudly supporting a range of exciting Transport projects across Wellington and the wider region. The Downer Surfacing division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country. We are looking for an experienced or up-and-coming Quality Assurance technician to join our team.

You will be responsible for organising and recording quality operations. Ultimately ensuring project operations achieve superior levels of safety performance and seamless communication and reporting to management. Your day to day tasks will include:

• Preparation of Contract Quality Plans, ITP and completion of quality assurance and quality control documentation including ITC's
• Carrying out activities in accordance with the Quality Plan, Inspection, Test Plan and Project Plan
• Calculation of material quantities ensuring compliance with customer requirements
• Recording of completed work and data including mix temperatures, mat depth and asphalt data dockets
• Recording of completed work and data including site measures, spray dockets and chip dockets per site
• Highlighting quality or compliance issues as they arise

Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills

• Hold a Full NZ Class 1 and 2 licence (Class 4 licence is beneficial)
• Be able to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to surfacing/construction operations
• You will have experience in the civil industry, ideally in sealing and quality assurance
• Be able to maintain accurate records and data management

You may be required to travel out of the region from time to time with our crews, so flexibility is needed.
