Mill Maintenance Planner
Position Description:
This role will develop maintenance plans in order of priority for preventative, backlog, shutdown and break-in maintenance activities. The maintenance Planner will optimize, and monitor compliance to, preventative maintenance programs and schedules for all processing facilities, HVAC and ancillary equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination and planning for the Mill maintenance and HVAC department
- Plan work orders in SAP based on priorities set by both operations and maintenance
- Quality Communication: Communicates effectively and professionally at all times
- Assist with backlog review and prioritization
- Create, edit, and maintain task lists for routine and repeatable jobs
- Update bill of materials as needed
- Responsible for cost control of work plans and parts ordering - look for opportunities for improved efficiencies
- Perform work order review and release
- Audit previous plans for accuracy and implement improvements in future work
- Communicate regularly with strategic procurement to ensure material availability when needed
- Communicate with maintenance trades and supervisor to ensure timely feedback is provided and received
- Support other planners and supervisors on the team by sharing knowledge and providing solutions
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings and town halls
- Time Management: Able to pace own work and to work unsupervised. Capable of readjusting priorities when necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Aptitude and ability to identify and implement improvements
Qualifications:
- Practical experience in maintenance industry, preferably mine/mill processing related.
- 2 years' experience with computer-based maintenance planning/ scheduling.
- Ability to read, understand and maintain drawings and schematics utilizing the applicable methods
- Millwright certification in the Province of Ontario; preferred.
- Sound understanding of both the principals of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning
- Clear understanding of maintenance standards and procedures
- Ability to work effectively with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) SAP
- Communication, leadership, and team building skills
- Strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills
- Strong mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ability to walk down to a job and assure work has been completed per standard work instruction and follows applicable code per site location.
- Ability to develop individuals to achieve better results
- Proficient in follow-up and feedback
- Climbing equipment ladders
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Previous maintenance planner or coordinator experience
- Previous experience with SAP
- Experience in mining is considered an asset
