The team is looking for an experienced Lead Cost Controller to work on a exciting Copper-Gold Mine project

Major Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs complex Cost Control activities and/or supervises the preparation of Cost Controls activities for a project. Activities include, but are not limited to:

Setting up the cost control processes, coding structures and systems internally for the management of control budget
Prepare and maintain the project control budget in line with execution strategy across engineering, procurement, construction and project indirects
Participate in RFQ/ITT process and bidders evaluation with respect to scope and budget analysis
Maintenance of budgets, commitments and variations
Identification of trends affecting forecast cost at completion and reflecting project change into the control budget and forecast
Support team members with re-forecasting and estimating activities to complete project cost forecasts
Update and administer the project cash flow forecast
Integrate forex requirements into cost reporting
Liaise with subcontractors and vendors and manage third party costs.
Monitor Project performance including costs, progress against schedule and internal reviews to provide a transparent assessment of critical project performances
Preparation of reporting including Value of Work Done calculation
Participate in the review of contractor invoices, tracking payments
Manage a team of Cost Controllers across geographic locations

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
Minimum of 9 years relevant work experience as Cost Controller some of which was leading a team
Major capital resources sector projects experience, in mining, preferably around Process Plants
Experience onsite in construction projects is preferred.
Estimating experience is beneficial.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and understanding of cost control tools
