Your Role:

• An opportunity has become available within our Group Internal Audit Team, based out of the North Ryde office. Supporting and reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and Assurance, you will be responsible for:
• Promoting an effective control environment and management of risk at a reasonable cost.
• Assessing and reviewing business processes, ensuring they are designed, established and operating adequately and effectively.
• Providing effective leadership and management to the Group Internal Audit and Risk team, developing team capabilities and skills in delivering a quality, value add Internal Audit function.
• Representing the Group Internal Audit and Risk team across the Downer businesses in providing independent, objective analysis and insight
• Reporting audit findings with practical recommendations; and pro-actively supporting Management in their implementation of changes.

About You:

• Tertiary Accounting Qualification and CA / CPA (CIA also beneficial)
• 5+ years Internal Audit or Big 4 experience
• People management capabilities in developing and mentoring subordinates; and in forming relationships with business stakeholders
• Experience in the construction, mining, energy or project / property industry would be highly regarded
• Ability to embrace challenges, negotiate successful outcomes and identify quality processes that will contribute to the ongoing internal audit plan.
• Refined written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills to multi-task and work to deadlines
