Downer Rail and Transit Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced RAMS Engineer to join our team.

Our Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) business provides a range of end to end, innovative transport solutions including:

• Rolling Stock Design & Manufacture
• Rolling Stock System Integration
• Fleet Through Life Support Services
• Public Transport Operations

As the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the overall RAM capability within the business across all aspects of a project life cycle following system engineering practices (business development, tenders, project and through life support). The role is to support the RAM team in ensuring that effective RAM systems and processes are utilised to deliver against business and project objectives.

You will focus on supporting the through life support business with the Rail and Transit Systems Division in areas of reliability growth assessment, reliability and availability monitoring, maintenance optimisation and maintenance strategy.

This includes but not limited to:

• Familiar with the Reliability Centre Maintenance methodology
• Optimisation of existing maintenance strategy for multiple fleets, which involves
• Review and updates of FMECAs, including the generation of Operational FMECA
• Perform reliability analysis of work orders and spare usages to ascertain performance of rolling stock components and determining if there are opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct condition assessment of components to support optimisation justifications.
• Conduct safety requirement reviews and hazard log analysis to evaluate the impact any proposed changes.
• Understand the Change Management Process and its requirements.
• Review of failure data to develop reliability growth model, to assess and monitor reliability and availability performance of various fleets.
• Standardise process for monitoring reliability growth & reliability and availability performance of various fleets
• Standardise processes for performing reliability analysis and improvement predictions

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum Degree qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering (Any Discipline)
• Formal tertiary RAM qualification or specialisation is highly desired
• 3 years relevant experience of RAM in Rolling Stock or similar heavy maintenance industry
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Experience with RAM in Operation & Maintenance stage will be highly regarded
