Our Environmental Services Group (ESG) provides our clients with expertise in climate change , environmental assessment & management, noise & vibration, social impact management, sustainable development design, and water resources. With your help, we can build extraordinary things that co-exist, and benefit local communities and habitats.

We are currently seeking an environmental professional to join our St. John's office located in Newfoundland and Labrador. The ideal candidate would be a young professional with educational background in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or chemical engineering. Graduate studies would be an asset. This person would have strong interest for environmental management, data analysis, compliance and permitting, and would have demonstrated to be highly organized and pro-active engaging with colleagues and clients. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

The role :

  • Participate in desktop reviews of environmental and regulatory framework, as well as scientific literature to define requirements for compliance.
  • Provide support to senior resources with the planning of environmental activities and permits.
  • Contribute to baseline studies, field work and subsequent data analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation of environmental permitting documents and environmental assessment.
  • Creation of technical reports, environmental management programs and strategies.
  • Provide support to senior resources during stakeholder engagement activities and regulatory reviews with the authorities.
  • Interest in modeling and simulation exercises, such as air-dispersion and noise assessment (previous experience in modelling or collecting field data is considered an asset).
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife and vegetation assessment methodologies, and best practices.
  • Coordinate work with other environmental specialists (i.e., noise, air, archaeology, built heritage, fisheries, terrestrial ecologists, etc.).
  • Deliver high-quality environmental services to agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with others for business development activities, including the preparation of proposals and definition of scope of work.


Qualifications and Experience :

  • A Bachelor's Degree, in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, or equivalent in related discipline.
  • Professional designation.
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbally and written.
  • Bilingualism, both English and French, is a strong asset.
  • Ability to develop personal networks.
  • An ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and integrated team environment.
  • Strong Organizational skills and autonomy.
  • Interest for working in a fast paced, consulting environment.
  • Flexibility and interest to learn and perform challenging tasks outside their area of skills and studies.
  • Flexibility to travel when needed (periodically);
  • Interest in conducting field work as required (periodically).
  • Previous consulting experience is considered an asset.
