Hatch, a full-service consultancy, is currently seeking a highly motivated GIS CADD Technician - Mapping & Property to join the Infrastructure team in Mississauga, ON.

The successful candidate will specifically support the Third Parties, Property and Planning (TPPP) team, including a special assignment with a significant public transit provider. TPPP is a knowledgeable group of property professionals with extensive public and private sector infrastructure project experience. They have strong industry credentials, including academic recognition in business, planning and real estate, as well as project management (PMP) and International Right of Way designations. The team offers expertise in matters of property acquisition and disposition, expropriation, appraisal theory, legal insight, planning & design principles, political acumen, access agreements, licensing and leasing of real estate rights.

As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Maintain utility, topographic and property mapping database;
  • Receives project team requests for pre-engaging mapping data;
  • Determines geographic extent of project requests;
  • Extracts available mapping from database and delivers to project;
  • Determines new mapping requirements;
  • Obtains latest new mapping from City, Province and other sources;
  • Translates new mapping into TTC geospatial reference system;
  • Delivers new mapping to project team;
  • Updates old mapping in database with new mapping;
  • Obtains special mapping products like aerial orthophotos, dtms, etc.;
  • Obtains property records and surveys from Senior Surveyor;
  • Compiles property mapping from latest records;
  • Prepares property sketches based on complies mapping work;
  • Prepare property requirement sketches based on new design;
  • Performs geometric calculations as required;
  • Performs drafting assignments as required.


You bring to the role:
  • Community College Technician Diploma in the field of GIS or equivalent, combined with at least 5 years' related experience;
  • Requires sound knowledge of GIS, mapping, surveying and drafting principles, practices and methods;
  • Must have detailed knowledge of CADD (MicroStation), GIS, Database Processing and general office computer software.
