About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Technical Services provides global support to Newmont and its operating businesses across a range of specialized technical functions. Technical Services expertise covers all key resource industry fields, including Resource Modelling, Reserves & Resources, Mine Engineering, Mineral Processing & Metallurgy, Asset Management, Operational Technology and Business Improvement, Information Technology, Supply Chain and Operational Support.

Within Technical Services, the Asset Management (AM) function is responsible for creating and implementing effective global asset strategies, delivering efficient asset planning and strategic insights to drive exceptional global asset performance across Newmont's portfolio. It strives to ensure that Newmont's asset management processes, systems and capabilities are a source of sustainable and considerable competitive advantage for Newmont. This is achieved by focusing on business process and systems standardization, proactive collaboration, competency and capability development, maintenance and reliability practices, relevant global productivity metrics and targeted value-adding asset lifecycle cost improvements. The AM function is focused on delivering value aligned with our philosophy of continuous improvement and rapid replication.

The Asset Management Operating Support Network (AM OSN) will provide subject matter expert (SME) and engineering support for global programs, such as Full Potential, defect elimination, asset integrity and root cause analysis. The Asset Integrity team performs activities monitoring critical assets' condition. The Senior Asset Integrity Engineer will centrally monitor the registered process and non-process infrastructure assets. Recommended corrective actions arising from these structural, electrical and mechanical inspections and audits are handled in consultation with the site to ensure critical assets remain in compliance with relevant standards to minimize business risk.

This is a global technical role that draws on expertise as a regulatory & statutory authority, strategic problem solver, project manager, communicator, technical subject matter expert, and data-driven problem solver. Key outcomes include:

• Establish and handle the execution of the global Asset Integrity program to monitor, coach, intervene and sustain based on analytical insights to enhance asset reliability and reduce business risk.
• Drive asset integrity-related improvements and ensure they are rapidly replicated across the organization.
• Drive Asset Management best practices and technical vision across Newmont portfolio.
• Establish and maintain regularity and statutory requirements across all sites, aimed at continued "license to operate".
• Effectively build and maintain cost vs risk picture for global business planning purposes.
• Maintain transparent global enterprise risks register associated to asset integrity.

Safety and Health

• We demonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a global Newmont culture of safety and health.
• We actively encourage inclusion of Newmont's safety standards when generating remediation plans.
• We drive sites to reduce asset integrity related risks.

Analysis & Insights

• We establish and drive detailed asset integrity condition assessment audits, routine assessments, develop remediation plans in line with global jurisdictional requirements.
• We are responsible for identifying new and emerging technology to drive asset integrity insights.
• We are active contributor to asset strategies.
• We contribute to decisions regarding asset design, purchase, maintenance, and replacement.
• We maintain global asset integrity compliance and enterprise risk reporting.

Collaboration & Rapid Replication

• We establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with site-based leaders and maintenance engineers/advisors.
• We actively participate in Asset Integrity performance meetings with sites / regions to provide insights and improvement opportunities.
• We facilitate asset integrity collaborative networks across the organization through regular regional collaborative forums and platforms.
• We increase Asset Integrity Management awareness across sites.
• We actively contribute to the Asset Integrity Management remediation library.

Team Leadership / Management

• We contribute to operational expenditure forecasts and handle asset integrity capital expenditure.
• We handle assigned global asset integrity management (AIM) business partners to perform on-site AIM assessments and support remediation planning.
• We support sites to establish and guide remediation business partners.

Education and certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license

Experience:

• At least 8 years' experience in heavy industry and asset integrity-related activities.
• Interpreting and applying local regulations and standards within operations.
• Experience in using data insights and analysis to drive key business and improvement decisions.
• Experience with computerized maintenance planning systems.
• Experience with change management of communication and knowledge management methodologies.
• Experience in implementing Asset Management principles and best practices.
• Experience using analytical tools and processes that improve Asset Management performance, reliability and safety, reducing operating costs and improving return on assets.
• Experience with root cause analysis and development of effective solutions to reduce losses.
• AIM program experience.
• ERP system experience desirable.
• Interpretation of drawings, reviewing models (Electrical), design criteria, engineering calculations and business partner data.

Skills and Abilities:

• Identified strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives in a complex and global organization.
• Ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgment and critical thinking.
• Strong understanding of reliability principles and data-driven insights.
• Strong understanding of fixed assets within mining or comparable industry.
• Strong understanding of integrity condition assessment methodologies.
• Familiarization with regulatory and statutory, standards.
• Intermediate level of SAP transactional skills (creation and querying of notifications, work order status, extracting history, etc.).
• Ability to handle tasks both in-person and virtually.
• Ability to handle and influence stakeholders across different sites, regions, and functions.
• Identified ability to create data-driven business decisions.
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the frequent out-of-normal-office-hours requirements of leading a global team and project.
• Ability to communicate project progress, both written and verbal, and strong project management skills.

Where you will be located!

• The primary location for this position is Denver but qualified candidates in proximity to one of our offices or operations in the Americas are encouraged to apply
• Position is required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.
• Flexible hours required to accommodate global nature of work.

The salary range offered for this role is $110,160 - 136,080. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
