Purpose

The Inventory Controller is responsible for all inventory systems maintenance and the appropriate inventory levels as well as storage facilities, updating, including new stock processing, location system maintenance and scheduling, stock movement analysis, catalogue development, contract reorder and month end reporting to support operations and maintenance.
The Inventory Controller is also responsible for all prescribed requirements under OH&S Act and WHMIS for accurate floor plans, and inventories of designated substances.
Inventory Controller role may include other reasonable duties/task from time to time.

Safety and Sustainability Expectations

Maintain a safe working environment in the Supply Chain Department while adhering to the Goldcorp Inc. Environmental and Sustainability Policy, Global Supply Chain Policies Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and Porcupine Gold Mines Policies and procedures.
Lead Safety through the utilization FRM boards, Forwood app and completing monthly CCV in active warehouse's.

Essential Duties

INVENTORY CONTROL
  • Must ensure all new stock request forms are competed properly and have all appropriate approvals using conveyor.
  • Responsible for updating Physical Inventory Data Entry for month end.
  • Responsible for the addition of new stock items into the computer database in a timely manner complete with all available references and related data.
  • Must review all new stock items on their first delivery with the warehouse operator to minimize duplication of stock, add any new cross reference numbers, and update descriptions as required.
  • Responsible for continuous data maintenance of the materials management catalogue as it pertains to the descriptions, keywords, cross references and equipment reference
  • Controls inventory levels by reviewing, analyzing, reporting and directing corrective action based on historical data. Special emphasis is given to items which continually stock-out
  • Develop an inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings and rationalizing our inventory.
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of floor plans and accurate inventory levels of designated substances required under OH&S Act and WHMIS
  • Responsible to assist in the design and set up of new inventory areas
  • Required to provide computer training to new warehouse personnel
  • Required to provide computer training / assistance to all end users as it pertains to warehousing functions
  • Responsible for generating all inventory counts to ensure every inventory items are counted at least twice annually.
  • To ensure all inventory counts are being completed on a weekly / monthly basis and entered into month end report.
  • Generate a monthly report for the top fifty cost items to be sent to the Administration Manager to be review with senior management.


Training & Experience

  • Business Administration degree or diploma from a college or university or PMAC Diploma or related experience and course.
  • Working knowledge of Legislation requirements under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Current Tax Ruling.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in inventory control, procurement and warehousing function preferably in a mining or manufacturing environment. Experience with computerized systems and PC's a must.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in team effectiveness.
  • Must be able to interact well with customers and vendors
  • With minimal supervision must be able to organize work, prioritize and execute.
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
  • SAP experience is a must


Working Conditions

This is a site based position located in Timmins, ON.
The schedule is 4 days on 3 days off
