Job description:

General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

Carry out kitchen-related tasks as assigned by Head Baker. Bakers mix and bake ingredients to produce breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, or other baked goods.

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

• High school diploma required
• Certificate in Food Preparation.
• Previous experience in large-scale catering establishment.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.

Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables

• Maintain food quality, presentation, and service in accordance with the Head Baker's specifications.
• Prepare all types of pastry, bakery products and breads as per the instructions of Head Baker, and ensure smooth supply of products to the kitchen and mess hall.
• Control and manage waste.
• Check that all bakery tools and equipment's are in working order, and inform the Head Baker of any faults immediately.
• Carry out other duties as required or directed by the Head Baker.
• Control the food quality, presentation and service as per the required standards defined by the Head Chef.
• Ensure adequate operating knowledge of various bakery tools and equipment.
• Prepare all types of pastry, bakery products and breads as per the instructions of Head Chef and ensure smooth supply of products to the kitchen and mess hall.
• Check that all bakery tools and equipment are in working order and inform the chef of any faults immediately.
• Provide professional leadership and technical support to the catering team to ensure the creation of a working environment, which is conducive to employees gaining new skills and achieving their full potential, by the development and implementation of effective training and mentoring programs.
• Carry out other duties as required or directed by the Head Chef.

Operational Requirements

Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.

Environmental Responsibilities

• Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama.
• Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
• Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
