ABOUT THE ROLE

The Utilities Technology and Communications team is seeking a Project Accountant to liaise with the commercial team & project managers. Reporting into the Finance Manager, the role will be responsible for the day to day running of contracts, including preparation and delivering of forecasts & operational budgets covering multiple projects within the Technology and Communications Wireless business.

Role responsibilities include:
  • Prepare monthly reports that accurately reflect the project/regional financial and commercial position.
  • Prepare monthly, annual and "whole of life" contract budgets, forecasts and cashflows for all Projects.
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast and provide related analysis and advice to management.
  • Work with the commercial team in managing procurement activities and subcontractor claim payments.
  • Liaise with commercial team members and project team to ensure that supplier and construction partner costs are in line with forecasted costs.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have or demonstrate
  • Accounting Qualifications (Degree & CA/CPA completed/commenced)
  • Several years of project/operational accounting experience, ideally in the engineering/construction/telecommunication industry
  • Experience in report analysis and presentation: confident, good communication skills- ability to understand and advise a deeper meaning of the financial data (some stakeholders will be external to the accounting team)
  • Working with budgets, profit and loss, and working capital
  • Business Partnering / providing support to business function with exposure to complex & numerous Facilities Management contracts (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of software: JDEG, Dynamics (advantageous, however not essential)
