We have been selected as preferred organisation to deliver Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), the largest investment in new rollingstock in Queensland history. Design, build, and maintenance of 65 brand new trains, design and build of a manufacturing facilities and Depots, a huge boost to local manufacturing and supply chain - a true legacy to be created for Queensland that you can be a part of.

The Role

Our high performing rail team is seeking to appoint a Safety Assurance Engineer (Built Environment) to provide capability for the systems and safety assurance activities required to successfully deliver this history making project.

Located in Brisbane, this position be an integral role within the QTMP Project supported by the greater team and the national rail business.

Responsibilities of the role include and not limited to:

• Management and execution of the safety assurance activities and systems within the engineering, procurement, and construction stages, including planning, analysis, hazard management and reporting of systems assurance outcomes associated with the manufacturing and maintenance facilities as well as interfaces with rolling stock.
• Identification and communication of potential resource requirements to deliver the systems assurance works aligned with project goals and zero harm
• Reviewing of progress against plans, contractual arrangements, and delivery stages
• Demonstrating leadership in engineering safety risk management, safety compliance and auditing, and ensure legislative, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met
• Internal and external Stakeholder management capability

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

• Tertiary qualification preferably in engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of project-based safety assurance management experience, preferably within the built environment
• Knowledge of contemporary systems engineering and assurance practices
