The Downer New Plymouth team needs a physically fit and motivated person to join our Transport Services Construction crew to lend a helping hand as a General Worker. You will be involved in the general operation of trucks and machinery and daily manual labouring duties.

About the job:
Your day-to-day will involve fixing potholes, sign maintenance, traffic management, hand shovelling out curbs and general maintenance activities. You'll work as part of a cohesive team to deliver projects and ensure site safety for the crew and the community.

This is primarily a Monday - Friday, full-time permanent position based out of our New Plymouth - Rifle Range Road depot and involves occasional weekend and night work.

About you:

Ultimately, we are looking for individuals willing to learn, grow, and develop within our business. Along with a positive attitude and a commitment to safe workplace practices, we are looking for you to have:
  • Minimum Class 1 - Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • The ability to work well within a team and alone when required
  • A can-do attitude with a good work ethic
  • Demonstrated that you are reliable

It also helps if you have the following. However, these are not deal breakers, and training can be provided:
  • Class 2 - 4 Drivers Licences and WTR endorsements
  • Experience operating a variety of civil machinery
