Our Transport Services business is a market leader, shaping and influencing the future of New Zealand's infrastructure. Incorporating more than 2,500 employees, this business covers a diverse range of services including operations and maintenance of the road, rail, port and airport infrastructure, material production and manufacturing, technical services, leading research and development facilities and a large asset base including fixed and mobile assets, with revenues exceeding $800m annually.

Due to the growth of our operations in New Plymouth, we are now looking for a highly motivated and flexible Drainlayer to join our Construction crew in this brand new role.

About the role:

This is a 'hands-on' role where you will lead a crew tasked with delivering a range of our water construction projects for both external clients and on our existing Downer maintenance contracts.

You will plan, organise, direct and lead activities and operations of the team in the field to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of our customers and that production targets are met.

About you:

• You will be a certified drain layer
• A proven track record of providing a quality service as a Drainlayer
• High standard of workmanship
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Strong safety and quality focus
