Our Environmental Services Group (ESG) provides our clients with expertise in climate change , environmental assessment & management, noise & vibration, social impact management, sustainable development design, and water resources. With your help, we can build extraordinary things that co-exist, and benefit local communities and habitats.

The Environment and Sustainability Practice focuses on collaboration with other service areas within Hatch to develop new business opportunities. We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Environmental Professional to assist us in growing our market share in Australia.

In alignment with our values and vision, the Environment and Sustainability Practice must be managed in a professional and commercial manner in order to deliver the high standard of service expected by Hatch, our clients, and other stakeholders. This includes a deep and sincere commitment to making a difference in the community and to the environment, through the provision of value enhancing services. You will be part of the regional team, who will be available to support you in achieving your objectives. The successful candidate will have experience in areas of mining, energy and infrastructure and a desire to take advantage of an identified growth area within our organisation. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the group, taking it to a new level. We are looking for someone who is technically competent whilst demonstrating strong team collaboration and drive.

As the successful candidate, you will have:
  • Knowledge and implementation of compliance with statutory requirements
  • Experience in reporting, investigation and management of environmental incidents
  • Experience in the development, planning and preparation of environmental impact assessment, and management plans
  • The ability to work with key stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives and programs of work
  • A positive team focus and great client relationship management
  • The ability to work collaboratively within integrated, multidisciplinary teams, liaising and supporting global peers


Qualifications and qualities we are ideally seeking:
  • Bachelor's/University degree in science, environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering or a related discipline (8-15 years)
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience, in the environmental/sustainability consulting industry.
  • Understanding of Commonwealth and Western Australian environmental legislation
  • Certified environmental practitioner are preferred
  • Experience implementing environmental permits on site, particularly in mining and mine closure- advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to engage clients, workforce and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Implementing innovative ideas throughout project life


Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:
  • Mine closure
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements in Australia
  • Willingness to travel as work requires
