As part of the Exploration team, the successful candidate is required to have a passion for discovery. The candidate ought to be self-motivated, and able to thrive in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hard-rock geology and possess knowledge of ore forming processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety and health, environmental, and community relations procedures are in place and followed
• Supervision of geologic staff
• Completes and supervises the collection of geologic mapping, sampling, RC chip and core logging, geologic data compilation/synthesis and interpretation, and geologic modeling to support targeting
• Interpret ATV/OTV Televiewer data and apply to drill targets
• Design and execute exploration programs with minimal supervision
• Review and provides feedback on technical and project proposal, and ensures adherence to best practices
• Ensure data integrity and implementation of QAQC procedures
• Ensure projects have clear and appropriate decision points and that they are adhered to
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget
• Ensure key stake holders are kept up to date on project progress
• Prepares and presents annual budget material
• Deliver regular progress reports and presentations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required, Masters preferred
• 3-7 years of experience in mining/mineral exploration
• Demonstrated commitment to a safe work culture, ability to work safely, and completion of projects in an environmentally responsible manner
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures and ensure fellow employees/contractors follow company policies and procedures
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Self-starter that can prioritize heavy workload and work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written skills, team leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Possess a high-level of organization and attention to detail with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Competence in mineralogy, structural geology, with field experience
• Experience in geologic mapping, sampling, logging, sectional interpretation, and modeling
• Knowledge of Carlin-type systems

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick's Cortez; the combination of Barrick's Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp's Carlin; and the combination of Barrick's Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp's Twin Creeks.
