THE ROLE

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for reliable, self-motivated Asset Inspectors and Asset Inspector Assistants to join our team working on the Energy Queensland Network. This is a full-time permanent position based in Toowoomba, QLD.

As an Asset Inspector you will provide technical hands-on asset inspection services in accordance with the relevant client standards and other appropriate procedures. All services will be conducted with a high degree of accuracy in the reporting on any components, features and assets requiring maintenance.

As an Asset Inspector Assistant, you will provide support to the Asset Inspector by performing tasks including, excavating soil around base of power poles using both manual tools i.e., Crowbar/Shovel/Jackhammer or Mechanical trencher equipment where appropriate and other duties as required.

Some key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting detailed examinations of distribution and sub-transmission overhead line inspection / below ground pole inspections.
  • Adhere to the Energy Queensland Standards and Lines Defect Classification Manual.
  • Carry out specified preservative treatments and minor maintenance tasks as required.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, training, audits and ensure compliance standards are maintained.
  • Identifying and reporting any components or other features which require maintenance.
  • Ensure all works are completed within required deadlines.
  • Report all potential and existing safety/environmental hazards.
  • Ensure all equipment including vehicles, plant and materials are maintained in a clean, well maintained, and good working order.
  • Be innovative toward and actively participate in improved asset inspection methods.

ABOUT YOU
  • Current QLD Manual Drivers Licence.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Current Provide CPR HLTAID009 - must be willing to obtain.
  • Current Remote First Aid HLTAID013 - must be willing to obtain.
  • Certificate II in Asset Inspection (advantageous).
  • Flexible to work overtime or away from home on a 10 days on / 4 days off roster (as required) and able to travel to multiple site locations across QLD..
  • Previous experience working in the Electrical/Asset Inspection industry (advantageous).
  • Have a dedicated focus and commitment to working safely.
  • Able to work in a team or autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
