Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a IT Technician in Trail, BC.
This role has overall responsibility for providing local IT Operational Support Services to the Trail BC office and potentially to other offices on an as need basis.

Our Trail office currently numbers over 50 engineers, designers and support personnel. Trail, located in Southeastern British Columbia near the cities of Rossland, Nelson and Castlegar, is an affordable family-oriented community of approximately 10,000 people. The area offers excellent education and health care facilities, as well as access to world-class skiing at Red Mountain, hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, golf and all outdoor activities available in the Kootenays. Come work where most people dream of going to play! The Wood Trail office is currently offering a hybrid working environment, with your work week split between attending the Wood Office and working from home. This situation is subject to change and is dependent on project requirements, office plans, and Wood policy changes.
Wood's Trail engineering team and company-wide environmental specialists are focused on Carbon Management & reduction initiatives and are providing solutions to Energy services within the region to reduce emissions and protect our environment.

Key Responsibilities
- End user hardware/software problem resolution and support as assigned by the IT Service Management framework.
- Hardware moves, additions, and changes.
- Workstation/Laptop configurations/reconfigurations
- Execution of basic network support functions, as assigned by the Operations Manager, which may include data backup and recovery, server resource monitoring and management, printer/plotter/scanner installation and maintenance.
- Perform office-specific non-standard IT tasks per agreements with local office management (e.g. Telephony support)
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
- IT Operations-related certification(s) from a recognized university, college, specialized training institution, and 2 yrs + of relevant work experience
- A strong and positive customer service attitude
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- The ability to solve problems with many variables and unique situations.
- The ability to organize and prioritize personal tasks to meet deadlines and service level objectives.
- Flexibility to perform after hours or weekend duties, as needed.
