About Us

Hatch is currently seeking experienced Project Controller to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Project Controller will manage and oversee the project controls functional group on a multidiscipline EPCM project and play a pivotal role in key decision making and leadership.

The Role

The Project Controller, will fulfill all project controls tasks such as cost management, planning and scheduling, EPCM controlling, Cost controlling and project accounting, Change Management and reporting. This role will establish and maintain the project control baselines used to manage the project, control change, and evaluate performance, working alongside other project functional groups (including engineering, procurement, and construction teams) to monitor progress, identify trends and risks, and evaluate performance, to support project decisions.

The Project Controller generate cost reports including control budget, commitments, expenditure and forecasts on industrial project, and approve payment of invoices. They will develop master schedules, as well as associated basis of schedule documentation. The Project Controller will also analyze cost performance through Earned Value Management (EVM) and prepare detailed forecast of remaining work.

About You.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate the following attributes and experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent related experience.
  • 5-10+ years' similar experience in an execution project environment with detailed knowledge in Planning and Scheduling, Cost Management and Earned Value Management.
  • Experience in Oracle Primavera P6 to develop critical path method (CPM) schedules of various levels
  • Experience in high value, multi-discipline EPCM project environments from inception to close-out.
  • Strong personal computer skills (particularly MS Office suite) and relevant project controls specific software skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey project technical information to project stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and provide direction to others to ensure the quality of deliverables.
