Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specialises in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, civil earthworks, rock mechanics, underground structures, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.

Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Dynamic Earth Solutions group in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

As the successful candidate you will:

• Lead all geotechnical engineering tasks related to cost-effective design and construction
• Oversee studies that support the company's growth strategy.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications and correspondence.
• Leading and develop the strategic capabilities of Hatch
• Develop business, writing proposals and presenting to clients.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, designers and technicians.
• Undertake technical review and oversight of geotechnical investigations, assessments and design documents and technical drawings prepared by the team

You will bring to this role:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science (Geology) with a specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering
• 15+ years post-graduation engineering experience.
• Registered, or eligible to be registered, and licensed to practice in Australia
• Leadership skills with a proven aptitude to mentor and develop junior engineers, designers and technicians.
• Team focused with excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of multidisciplinary projects.
• Client responsive with a history of successful business development.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to travel within Australia and Internationally on short term assignments as required
