Scope of work:

Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership (IIR) will be the primary contractor on an underground mine project located on the east coast of Labrador, approximately 350 km north of Goose Bay. Future mining from the two separate underground deposits will extend the life of this operation for at least another decade. Both deposits contain Nickel and Copper and at peak production, 2.54 million tons will be mined annually.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Project Engineering Manager and/or the Project Manager, the Site Planner/Scheduler will work with project leads in the planning, creating, and managing of the project schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, works with technical and operations teams to prepare mitigation plans
  • Analyze the impact and extent of delays and major schedule changes,
  • Perform project progress monitoring duties
  • Identify critical activities and reviewing forecasts with progress achieved to date.
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, prepare execution schedules and track performance, incorporate quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Define both the physical and the economic performance of the projects and recommend action to be taken should deviations from the optimal performance be highlighted.
  • Prepare, define and compile the controls baselines including the development of project schedules, budgets and track progress against these baselines
  • Responsible for compiling progress claims and contract change orders
  • Prepare and finalize the close-out reports, including maintaining historical costs and production information
  • Ensure that the Redpath Management of Change process is being followed
  • Ensure that all functions are carried out in compliance with company and national health, safety and environmental guidelines, policies, procedures and legislations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in related scientific, business or engineering field (required)
  • University degree (business or engineering) in quantity surveying, cost estimating, commercial or mining. (preferred)
  • 5 Years of post-graduate field and/or office-based project accounting, estimating or controls experience related to underground construction projects or operational mining environment, with knowledge of project management, construction contracts, reporting and data manipulation
  • Advanced knowledge of and proficient with Primavera P6, MS office products (Excel, Project, Words, Etc) required
  • Computer Skills: Oracle; Oracle JD Edwards; Hard Dollar; MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Additional qualifications and/or certification(s) in quantity surveying (professional QS), project management (PMP), contract administration and key performance indicator measurement will be considered an asset.
