Coeur Mining, Inc. is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo silver-gold complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead development project in British Columbia and has interests in several precious metals exploration projects throughout North America.

The Senior Mine Geologist will report to the Geology Superintendent and work within the Technical Services Team. This position is preferred to be Juneau-based, working Monday-Thursday; however, a 15-day on and 13-days off camp-based job at the mine would be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume a key role in the Kensington Mine Geology, QAQC, and Resource programs.
  • Provide oversite of Mine Geologist daily ore control operation and geologic activities.
  • Support the infill and near mine drilling program.
  • Manage sitewide diamond drilling QA/QC program, act as the primary contact for external laboratories.
  • Assist with geologic interpretation and resource model construction.
  • Support underground mapping initiatives and implementation of structural modeling program.
  • Monitor data input into acQuire database for successful reconciliation reporting.
  • Perform all work in a safe and healthful manner in compliance with Company's safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
  • Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others.
  • Bachelors of Science in geology or equivalent earth sciences degree.
  • 5+ years of underground mine geology experience with minimum 2 years in supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency with acQuire, Vulcan, and Leapfrog required.
  • Proven experience managing QAQC programs and adhering to company policy and procedure.
  • Experience creating and updating geologic and resource models.
  • Ability to collect/interpret field data and integrate in a three-dimensional model.
  • Ability to work in a multiple-task environment and properly assign priorities.
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible and able co-exist in remote camp setting.
  • Preference given to Alaska residents.
