YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Detour Payroll Coordinator, you will be part of the Finance Department. The Payroll Specialist works closely with Admin Assistants, Human Resources and Department supervisors. The payroll specialist helps to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of the payroll processes with the priority of ensuring all employees are paid accurately and timely with adherence to approved policies, procedures, and legislative governance. As a highly service-oriented role, the payroll specialist will work closely and communicate continuously with all stakeholders including employees, functional HR personnel, operations as well as outside stakeholders such as Canada Revenue Agency, Family Responsibility and Service Canada among others. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

- Supports complex end to end payroll processing functions for bi-weekly/semi monthly payrolls ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness;
- Calculate payroll adjustments;
- Balance payrolls and remittances for each pay and year end processes;
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures;
- Assist with employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies;
- Data analysis and review of earnings and deductions;
- Supporting internal & external audit requirements;
- Prepare and distribute detailed reports to departmental stakeholders;
- Prepare payroll remittances to third parties;
- Support in year-end payroll functions - T4 preparation and annual reporting requirements;
- Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards;
- Maintain and initiate improvements to payroll processes;
- Other duties as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association or willing to work towards certification;
- Post Secondary degree / diploma - Business;
- Experience in SAP - SuccessFactors and ECP (Employee Central Payroll);
- Experience with SOX audits and compliance understanding;
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Highly detailed orientated;
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment;
- Excellent written, listening and communication skills;
- High degree of confidentiality;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
